Custom T-Shirts in Winder, GA: How to Order Screen Printed Shirts Without the Guesswork

Pink, green and gray Dutchmans Casual Living shirts screen printed by 1st Chance Graphics

Whether it’s a league team, a church trip, a family reunion or a crew that needs to look like a company, custom shirts come down to the same few questions. How many do I need? How many colors can I use? What file do I send? Here are straight answers.

We’re 1st Chance Graphics, a family shop in Bogart, about 11 miles from Winder. We burn our own screens and print on a ROQ 8-color, 10-station automatic press, and we’ve printed 100% in-house since 2016.

How many shirts do I need?

Our minimum is 24 pieces, and you can mix and match apparel to get there: shirts, hoodies and long sleeves can all count, as long as the art and ink colors stay the same. Above that, order what you need and mix sizes freely. Youth through adult sizes can go in the same order.

How colors work

In screen printing, every color in your design gets its own screen. Our press handles up to eight colors in one print. Each extra color means another screen to burn and set up, so a one or two color design is often the most budget-friendly. Some of the best shirts we print are one color.

Got shading, fades or a photo in your design? Halftones let us print those with dots of ink. Send it over and we’ll tell you how it’ll print.

What ink do you use?

Plastisol, the standard for screen printed shirts. It gives bright, solid color that holds up wash after wash.

Where on the shirt can you print?

All the standard spots: full front, full back, left chest and sleeves. A common business setup is a small logo on the left chest and a big logo with your phone number on the back.

What can you print on?

T-shirts, long sleeves, tanks, hoodies, sweatshirts and youth sizes. If you can wear it, we can print it.

What file should I send?

A vector file (AI, EPS, PDF or SVG) is best. If all you have is a picture or a sketch, send it anyway. Our in-house designer can clean up your art or build a design from scratch for an extra design fee.

How the order works

  1. Send us your art, the shirt you want, colors and quantities.
  2. We burn your screens, one for each color, right here in our shop.
  3. You approve a proof before we print a single shirt.
  4. We print it in Bogart, and your order is ready for pickup.

Ordering for an event? Give us as much lead time as you can. We’ll give you a date up front when you approve your proof.
